Mr and Mrs Harrison, Pateley Bridge
This job started off with a simple dry stone walling repair, but then progressed to us carrying out lots of interesting work including water features, landscaping, driveway, paving, green houses, ground works for a garage and fencing. Within the landscaping and water feature we recreated a mini Lake District setting with a natural mountain stream and a rockery with some very large boulders and steps going through it!
The pond at the bottom of this stream was missing something so, when the Harrisons went on holiday I stocked the pond with some fish after we had finished, which we are glad to say are breeding well each year. We still go back to do some basic maintenance including spraying weeds and cleaning of paved surfaces to prevent them from going green. A first for them this year was hedge laying, the old fashioned way to create thick field hedges to help wildlife.
Mr and Mrs Dalby, Summerbridge
Well this was a "biggie" in more ways than one! From walling to fencing, patios to horse stable and garage foundations, taking out the old swimming pool it went on and on - we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves down here, with each job quoted for coming in on time and budget. We still continue to do work for the Dalbys whenever they need us, and what started out as good customer relationship has now progressed to us being firm friends and having a drink on a summers evening - in a delightful garden, we may add !
Mr Mark Parker, Tadcaster
Now they say never work for family, but we made an exception for Roy's biggest critic, his big brother !
This job had to be a real "in and out before you know it" assignment, planned like a miitary exercise and completed whilst he was on holiday or at work ! We created a beautiful low maintenance garden with patios, graveled areas and circlular seating plots planted throughout with shrubs. This type of garden allows him to come back home after a hard days work, grab a glass of wine and just relax in the summer evening without having to mow the grass or weed the borders.
